Miners on the job site

Stronger bodies.
Safer mines.

We’re here to help miners move better, feel stronger, and live healthier lives – on and off the job.

Our Process

Each cohort completes two hands-on sessions designed to help them move better, feel stronger, and reduce the risk of injury — starting with the spine and core, and building out to the hips and shoulders.

Session 1:
Core Mechanics and Hip Control

Focus: Breathing, bracing, and hip mechanics for safer movement under load.

Goal: Improve core strength, offload the spine, and increase movement confidence — the base for every physical task at work.

Activities:

1.   Learn how to stabilize the core using simple breathing techniques and spine mechanics.

2.   Understand how to offload the low back and strengthen surrounding muscle groups.

3.   Revisit squat vs. hinge mechanics and introduce simple band tools.

4.   Train the hips and glutes with banded exercises, loaded carries, squats and deadlifts.

5.   Wrap up with guided mobility: upper spine, hips, and hamstrings.

2 hours, 20-30 people

Session 2:
Shoulder Stability and Strength

Focus: Shoulder strength and stability for healthier pain free shoulders and neck.

Goal: Restore strong, efficient movement patterns that protect the spine and prevent shoulder overuse.

Activities:

1.   Learn what healthy shoulders feel like and how to offload tension carried through the neck and tops of shoulders.

2.   Build resilient shoulders and upper spine through side planks, banded raises, and overhead drills.

3.   Mobility drills targeting any weak and restricted areas.

4.   Review, notes, and integration of personalized exercise homework for each participant.

5.   1:1 time with the trainers to answer any clarifying questions.

2 hours, 20-30 people

Personalized Follow-Up: Movement Plans for Every Individual

Focus: Customized support to help each participant build strength, mobility, and confidence – based on what their body needs most.

Goal: Keep progress going with a plan built for each body – reducing injury risk and boosting functional strength over time.

Activities:

1.   Participants are given a simple, personalized movement plan (max. 10–15 minutes/day).

2.   Plans target key issues like tight hips, weak glutes, shoulder stiffness, or core instability.

3.   All exercises are practical, equipment-light, and designed to integrate into daily routines — at home or at work.

4.   All required exercise equipment will be supplied in session. Equipment supplied includes various bands and one lacrosse ball for self massage — all able to fit into a tote bag.

“We learnt basic anatomy of each major joint and she gave us things to do if our knees, shoulders, or backs were painful or sore to keep us on the tools.”

“Since first attending the program our absenteeism and injuries have gone down while the employee retention and culture has increased. It's a great way to inform and educate the team on how to take care of their bodies.”

What we do

THE CORE PROBLEM

Suboptimal movement is costing mining companies millions — in lost productivity, avoidable injuries, and early exits from the workforce. Workers are pushing through fatigue and strain, not because they want to, but because they’ve never been trained in how to move well.

OUR SOLUTION

Mine Strong uses kinesiology, the science of movement, to optimize how people work. We focus on spotting and correcting movement breakdowns — the early-stage dysfunction that shows up before pain or injury ever does. When you catch these small issues early, you reduce the risk of bigger ones down the line. We deliver targeted, hands-on programs that build strength, mobility, and resilience across the workforce — one cohort at a time. We give people tools on and off the job.

Our Promise: We help miners unlock better movement — so they can do their best work and live their best lives.

OUR VISION

A mining industry where preventable injuries are a thing of the past because every worker moves with strength, confidence, and longevity — and no one has to choose between physical health and a rewarding career.
